WEIGHT BASED
For small to medium parcels.
- Maximum Weight - 100 Kg
- Maximum Dimensions Length - 50 cm
- Contents - Not valuable (Less than MWK 100,000)
- Price is calculated based on number of Kilograms.
- Example: A groceries package valued at MWK 95,000
VOLUME BASED
For bulky, voluminous but not heavy.
- Package with dimensional length of 50cm
- Contents not valuable
- Price is calculated on the total space occupied by package
- Example: Empty suitcase whose value is MWK 70,000
- Calculation is by volumetric weight.
- The Volumetric Weight of an item is used to measure the amount of space that it will take up in the transportation vehicle during shipping.
VALUE based & SPECIAL HANDLING
Specially tailored for high value goods
- Apply to any package with value above 100,000
- Packages that require special handling
- Price is fixed
- Does not take into consideration weight or volume
- Example : Ring, TV, Paint, Phone LCD
