Packaging Tips

choose the right packAGING

  • Box size: Use a box that’s slightly larger than your item, leaving room for padding to protect it.
  • Material: Use a sturdy cardboard box. Double-walled boxes are ideal for heavier or fragile items.
  • Avoid used boxes: They may have weak spots and could collapse during transit.

Protect the item inside

  • Bubble wrap: Wrap fragile items thoroughly. Multiple layers are better for delicate objects.
  • Foam or padding: Use foam, packing peanuts, or air cushions to fill empty spaces in the box, preventing movement.
  • Separate items: If sending multiple items, wrap and separate them to avoid collisions.

Seal Package Securely

  • Use strong tape: Reinforce all edges and seams of the box with heavy-duty packing tape.
  • H-shape seal: Apply tape across the box’s flaps and along the edges for added durability.

Label Package Clearly

  • Print the label: Ensure the recipient’s details and return address are visible and correct.
  • Fragile markings: Add “FRAGILE” or “HANDLE WITH CARE” if necessary, but still package as though it could be dropped.
  • Orientation arrows: For items like liquids, mark “THIS SIDE UP” where appropriate.

Special consideRATION

  • Liquids: Seal liquids in waterproof bags to prevent leaks.
  • Documents: Use flat, rigid envelopes or cardboard mailers to avoid bending.
  • Electronics: Remove batteries (if required by regulations) and wrap cords separately.
  • Perishables: Use insulated boxes or cold packs for food or temperature-sensitive items.

TEST your package

  • Give the package a light shake. If anything moves inside, add more padding

follow requirements

  • Check the courier's guidelines for weight, dimensions, and restricted items. Some couriers may also offer insurance for high-value goods
